ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing a quality select hardwood double rocker. These rockers are made exclusively by
the Hinkle Chair Company, a family-owned business that has made hardwood furniture in the same location in
Springfield Tennessee since 1834. Your chair comes with a rich heritage and will become a treasured family
heirloom. If you should have any comments or questions or need these instructions in Spanish, please call the

  • Page 4 *Before beginning assembly notice that the Upper Support Dowels (G) have two different type of holes. The recessed hole (Fig 1) is for the head of the screw to fit flush against the Support. These recessed holes should always face to the outside. The non-recessed hole (Fig 2) faces into the Chair against the Seat (E) The perspective of left and right in these instructions are from facing the chair not sitting in it.
  • Page 5 STEP 1: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Once the two Upper Support Dowels (G) are installed begin inserting the Lower Support Dowels (F) into the mortised holes of the Chair Back (A). Fig 5. The Lower Support Dowels (F) assemble the same way the Upper Support Dowels (G). Tap all dowels with a Hammer to ensure they are fully seated into the mortised hole.
  • Page 6 STEP 3:________________________________________________________________________________________ Place 9 x2 Screw (J) into pre-drilled hole on the Upper Support Dowel (G). Tighten Screw (J) snug but not fully tight so that the other screws are easier to thread in. Repeat this for all four screws. Fig. 9. Once all four screws are in place, go back and fully tighten all four seat screws. Fig.
  • Page 7 STEP 4:________________________________________________________________________________________ Place 10 x3 Screw (I) into pre-drilled hole on the Chair Back (A) directly behind the Arm (D). Tighten Screw (I) fully tight. Fig 15. Repeat for other side. Next apply glue to the hole on the inside of each Arm (D). Fig. 16 Fig.
  • Page 8 STEP 5:________________________________________________________________________________________ Note: Runners (C) have pre-drilled holes on one side. These pre-drilled holes go to the inside of the rocker. Do not glue the Runners (C). It makes it impossible to replace. Place Runner (C) onto Chair Front (B) post first and lightly tap it on. Fig 18. Align mortise and tenon on Chair Back (A) and tap on. Fig. 19. Then begin tapping the runner alternating from front to back until fully seated on the post.
