Laser-specific handling rules

!
A laser emits an extremely intensive beam of light.
Improper use can cause accidents, severe damage and
permanent eye injury.
!
Do not point the laser beam at people or animals,
and do not look into the direct or reflected beam.
Do not aim the laser beam toward reflecting surfaces, as they
!
may divert the beam and cause injuries.
!
If a beam is directed at your eyes, close them and move your
head immediately away from the beam.
!
Do not use optical instruments such as magnifying glasses, tele-
scopes, eyeglasses or other lenses to observe the source of the
beam or to modify the laser beam.

Using and handling batteries

Please note the following safety instructions for handling batteries.
Batteries can leak or explode, releasing toxic or corrosive substanc-
es, resulting in injury or significant damage to objects.
!
Never charge non-rechargeable batteries, as this poses an explo-
sion hazard as well as damage resulting from leaking acid.
!
Charge rechargeable batteries using only chargers that are suita-
ble and that have been tested for this purpose. Otherwise, the
battery may pose a fire hazard.
Charge batteries only at ambient temperatures between 0 to
!
+40°C / 32 to +104°F.
Do not bridge the contacts of batteries with electrically conduc-
!
tive material and do not plunge batteries into water or other liq-
uids. A short circuit between the battery contacts can cause burns
and/or fire.
!
Do not open, modify or destroy batteries, and do not subject
them to unnecessary jolts, direct sunlight, fire, microwaves, ex-
treme pressure or temperatures above 50°C / 122°F. Do not
store batteries in hot locations.
Do not use batteries that are leaky, discolored, deformed or are
!
damaged in any other way.
Improper use can cause fluid leakage. Leaking battery fluid can cause
!
skin irritation or burns.
