1. Safety notes

Before using this tool,
please study carefully the
information contained in
these oper ating instructions. They pro-
vide important information for your
safety as well as for the use and
mainten ance of the tool.
This precision boring tool is designed for
machining bores in metallic materials.
These operating instructions do not con-
tain specific information concerning the
machining of individual metallic materi-
als. When using other materials please
contact our technicians and attention
should be paid to the safety regulation.
The manufacturer cannot be held res-
ponsible for damage or injury caused by
improper use. A damaged tool can put
your safety at risk and must be taken out
of service immediately. If necessary,
contact the manufacturer.
This tool complies with the prescribed
safety regulations. Repairs must only be
undertaken by skilled personnel.
Improper repairs can result in considera-
ble danger to users. Warranty provisions
can be implemented only in the event
that original Wohlhaupter spare and
accessory parts are used.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe
place for future use.

2. Application and operation

The precision tool is designed for
machin ing bores from Ø 3 – 208 mm
(Ø .118" – 8.189"). An extensive range of
accessories is available for the individual
diameter ranges.

Boring:
- For the range Ø 3 – 10 mm (Ø .118" –
.394"): Mini-boring range.
- For the range Ø 6 – 20 mm (Ø .236" –
.787"): Tool holders of steel or hard metal.
- For the range Ø 20 – 32 mm (Ø .787" –
1.260"): Insert holders with serrated tool
bodies of steel or hard metal.
- For the range Ø 32 – 68 mm (Ø 1.260" –
2.677"): Insert holders with AluLine serra-
ted tool bodies.
- For the range Ø 68 – 208 mm (Ø 2.677" –
8.189"): Insert holders with AluLine serra-
ted adapter slides and counterweight.
Outside turning:
- For the range Ø 4 – 66 mm (Ø .157" –
2.598"): Insert holders for direct moun-
ting on the precision tool slide.
- For the range Ø 2 – 114 mm (Ø .079" –
4.488"): Insert holders with AluLine ser -
rated adapter slides and counterweight.
Axial grooving:
- For the range up to Ø 14.7 mm (Ø .579"):
Adapters from the mini-boring range
directly on precision tool slides.
- For the range up to Ø 136 mm (Ø 5.354"):
Insert holders with AluLine serrated
adapter slides and counterweight.

3. Tool data

• Precision tool with digital display in con -
junction with an electronic traverse mea -
suring system. The slide displacement is
measured directly – as a result, the re ver -
sal backlash of the adjustment me chanism
does not affect the adjustment.
• On the machine side, the precision tool
is fitted with a Wohlhaupter
connection (Fig. 1) or alternatively with
HSK in monoblock design. Other versi-
ons on request.
