Rise Time and Overshoot Performance Verification

Rise time verification is required to verify the system rise time of the analog
measurement path, from the bulkhead to the inputs of the analog-to-digital
converter (ADC). A pulse generator is used to modulate an RF signal generator
with fast rise time, and this is captured by the ADC. An equivalent time sampling
method is used to calculate the rise time of the captured trace.
This performance verification requires the following equipment:
– PSG analog signal generator (E8257D)
– Pulse pattern generator (81130A)
