Remove The Mower Deck; Replace The Blade Drive Belt - Scotts Turf Master C4013-050 Owner's Manual

MAINTAIN YOUR TRACTOR
REMOVE THE MOWER DECK (Figure 9)
1. Put the height adjustment lever in its lowest cut
position.
2. Remove the hairpin cotter from the mower deck
engagement rod and remove the clevis pin from the
engagement lever. Then remove the rod from the en-
gagement lever.
3. Remove the hairpin cotter from the front and rear
lift assemblies.
4. Remove the clevis pins.
5. Remove the hairpin cotter from the mower deck
hitch rod and remove the hitch rod.
6. Move the mower deck forward. Then move the belt
guides away from the belt and remove the blade drive
belt from the lower engine pulley.
7. Remove the mower deck by working it out from the
right side of the mower.
NOTE
The mower deck removal will be easier if the tractor
wheels are turned to the left, and the mower deck is
raised enough to allow the mower deck hitch to
slide out under the right front wheel.
Installation of the mower deck is the reverse of
removal.
REPLACE THE BLADE DRIVE BELT
(Figure 9)
1 . Refer to the Remove The Mower Deck paragraph
and remove the mower deck.
2. Note the position of the idler pulley belt retainer so
that you can reposition the retainer properly after the
new blade drive belt is installed. Loosen the idler pulley.
3. Loosen the mower deck belt guard enough to allow
the belt to be removed from the pulley.
4. Remove the old blade drive belt and replace it with
a new, original equipment belt.
5. Retighten the belt guard.
6. Adjust the belt retainer and retighten the idler
pulley.
7. Refer to Remove The Mower Deck

and reinstall the mower deck assembly in the reverse
order of removal.
8. Refer to Adjust The Blade Drive Belt paragraph
(in the Adjust Your Tractor section of this manual) and
adjust the blade drive belt.
