Precautions for Installing the RTN 380e onto a High Tower
When the RTN 380e is installed on a self-supporting tower, maintenance personnel cannot performance off-tower maintenance
through WLAN, because the RTN 380e is installed at a high position. You can use the following methods to solve this issue:

If an NE receives/transmits services through the P&E port, use an outdoor network cable to connect the NE's GE electrical
port and the PI's MGMT port. During the off-tower maintenance, connect a laptop on which the Web LCT is installed to the
PI's NMS port, or remove the outdoor network cable connected to the MGMT port and connect the cable to the laptop. See
Figure 1.

If an NE receives/transmits services through the GE optical port, no extra outdoor network cable is required. During the off-
tower maintenance, connect a laptop on which the Web LCT is installed to the GE port of the PI. See Figure 2.
In the off-tower maintenance, configure the GE electrical port to which the Web LCT is connected as an NMS port on the NMS, or
configure the network adapter of the laptop to receive and transmit IP packets carrying DCN VLAN IDs.
