Adjusting the rear brake pedal position (fig. 27)
To adjust the position of the rear brake lever, proceed as
follows:
Loosen counter nut (1).
Turn the pedal travel adjustment screw (2) until the pedal
is in the desired position.
When finished, torque locknut (1) to 2.3 Nm.

Work the pedal by hand to check that there is 1.5 - 2 mm
play before brake begins to bite.
If this is not so, adjust the length of the pump valve plunger
as follows.
Loosen the counter nut (3) on the pump valve plunger.
Tighten the link on the fork (4) to increase play, or unscrew
it to reduce.
Tighten counter nut (3) to 7.5 Nm and check the play again.
Fine-adjustment is also possible by changing the position
of brake pedal (5) using slot (6) in the brackets.
Loosen the fastening screw on the pedal and slide the
pedal along the slot, till it reaches the desired position.
Tighten the fastening screw to 12 Nm.
