WARNING
Surge protection is required on the PV side. Failure to observe this
requirement will create an electric shock hazard as the double insulation
barrier could break down due to excessive voltage surges.

An electrical protection like a fuse would help to protect the device against short
circuits in the voltage input.
NOTICE
This product is not meant to measure PV voltage only but voltage and
current, therefore it will not measure voltage correctly if no wires are
connected to X1 and/or X4.

3.3 Wiring of digital inputs

The digital inputs of this equipment are floating with regards to the rest of the circuit.
This is accomplished by means of dedicated optocouplers which provide a double
insulation barrier between the digital inputs and the PV-side terminals. From the user
perspective this means digital inputs without ground loops and full safety even under
severe surges.
This product includes two digital inputs (connector X3) designed to detect a open
dry contact as logical "0" and closed dry contact as logical "1". These inputs are
galvanically isolated from the internal circuitry.
