6. Operation

6.1 Preparation for Operation
Never allow the pump to run dry (without water).
This will cause damage to the shaft seal and
internal plastic components.
6.2 Starting the Pump
In a flooded suction type application (pump below
water level or in-line with primary pump), the
pump starts as soon as the shut-off valves in the
inlet are opened.
In non-flooded applications, the pump must be
primed by adding water within the suction piping
and pump cavity.
The pump starts working after switching on. The
suction action time depends on the suction height
and the length of the suction line.
If the pump does not work, check that all shut-off
valves are open and that there are no leaks in the
suction line where air can enter the water line
preventing activation.

7. Trouble-Shooting

Pump will not prime:
Insufficient water in pump casing
Primary pump not providing water
Incoming valve closed
Air leak in suction line
Motor does not operate:
Power is off
Circuit breaker has tripped
Pump is off by time controlled circuit
Motor connection is incorrect
Impeller is blocked by debris
Low Flow- High Filter Pressure:
Filter is dirty
Restriction in return line
Low Flow – Low Filter Pressure:
Inlet plumbing is blocked
Impeller is blocked by debris
Air leak in suction line
Motor rotation is incorrect
Noisy Pump:
Air leak in Suction line
Debris in plumbing lines or pump housing
Diameter of suction line is too small
Incorrect pump installation
Cavitation (restriction of water)
Heating of Motor:
Insufficient ventilation for motor
Size of wiring too small
8. Maintenance

the pumps is extremely important. This will
reduce problems and increase operating safety
and reliability.
8.1 Maintenance

of the motor fan using a screwdriver. This will free
the shaft seal and make starting the pump easier.

requirements specified by the manufacturer. This
is
always guaranteed when using original
