GENERAL

THE MANUFACTURER HAS NO DIRECT CONTROL OVER MACHINE APPLICATION AND
OPERATION. THE USER AND OPERATOR ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFORMING WITH
GOOD SAFETY PRACTICES.
This section provides the necessary information needed to understand
control function and operation.
DO NOT RAISE PLATFORM UNLESS THE MACHINE IS ON A SMOOTH, FIRM SURFACE,
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE MAXIMUM OPERATING SLOPE, FREE OF OBSTRUCTIONS
AND HOLES.

SECTION 3. MACHINE OPERATION
3.2
This machine is a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) used to posi-
tion personnel along with their necessary tools and materials at work
locations.
This MEWP is manually propelled push-a-round machine with a work
platform mounted to an elevating mast mechanism. The personnel
lift's intended purpose is to provide personnel (with their tools and
materials) access to areas above ground level.
When the platform is fully lowered, the machine can be pushed on its
wheels between work areas on a smooth, firm surface within the limits
of the maximum operating slope. It can also be transported by forklift
truck or loaded onto a suitable vehicle.
From the platform the operator can manually raise and lower the plat-
form using the flywheel cranking mechanism mounted on the front of
the mast. The mast is belt-driven and extended with the help of an
internal pressurized gas cylinder. Only elevate the platform when the
machine is on a smooth, firm surface within the limits of the maximum
operating slope.
