5. Install the cover (see page 22), then plug in all cords and cables.
6. Start the backup copy of the Reference Diskette (see page 14) and
follow the instructions on the screen to run automatic
configuration. (See "Set configuration" on page 12 for more
information.)
Removing and Installing the BaHery
CAUTION
The lithium baHery presents a fire, explosion, or severe burn risk.
Do NOT recharge it, remove its polarized connector, disassemble it,
heat it above 100°C (212°F), Incinerate it, or expose its cell contents
to water.
Dispose of the baHery as required by local ordinances or regulations.
When replacing the baHery, use only Part No . .72X8498. Use of
another baHery could result in ignition or explosion of the battery.
Replacement baHeries can be ordered from IBM or IBM Authorized
Dealers.
The configuration information is lost from the computer memory when
the battery is removed or replaced. After removing and installing the
battery, you must start the backup copy of the Reference Diskette and
follow the instructions on the screen to run automatic configuration.
1. Turn off the computer and unplug all cords and cables. Then
remove the cover (see page 21).
