DB25 Adapter Pinouts
The DB25 (RS-232 male) cable adapter is used to convert the 8-pin modular serial
interface to a standard RS-232 DB25 interface, which can then be connected to a
terminal, computer, or any Data Termination Equipment (DTE). Connection to a
modem requires a null modem adapter. The following table lists the pin
assignments.
DB9 Adapter Pinouts
The female DB9 cable adapter is used to convert the 8-pin modular serial interface
to a standard DB9 interface, which can then be connected to a laptop computer.
