    PREFACE This Operator’s Manual is meant for personnel that are operating the machine and are responsible for its daily maintenance. Kindly read this manual fully prior to starting work. Such instructions as are related to your safety and/or that of others are marked in the margin by a warning triangle with exclamation mark.

    - Use flashing lights or other safety signs, when required. - Don’t stand on the machine. - Use genuine LELY parts only. - Remove the pressure from hydraulic systems before starting work on them and/or before coupling/ uncoupling hydraulic hoses.

    EXPLANATION OF SAFETY DECALS ON THE MACHINE - Carefully read operator’s manual before handling the machine. Observe instructions and safety rules when operating. - Danger of parts dropping down. Keep away from the parts movement areas. - Danger of getting jammed by moving parts. Keep out of reach of all parts as long as they have not yet been blocked, or are otherwise prevented from moving.

    1 INTRODUCTION The LELY HIBISCUS 1525 Master (fig. 1) is a pull type, twin rotor cam rake for side delivery. The machine has 2 rotors with 13 tine arms, each equipped with 4 double tines. The tines give a clean sweep and move the grass to left hand side in an airy swath.

    2 LINKAGE TO THE TRACTOR - Adjust the tractor’s three point hitch lower arms at equal height. - Fit the lower arms to the linkage pins (cat II) of the headstock (fig. 4). - Lift the drawbar slightly so that it is horizontal. Maintain this height adjustment of the tractor lift during operations and transport.

    3 TRANSPORT After the machine has been adjusted to the transport position, it can be transported by the tractor. Transport width amounts to 2.40 m. Put the machine into the transport position as follows: To reduce the transport height of the HIBISCUS rake to 3.20 m, tine arms of each rotor can be demounted and stored in the holder fitted on top of the rotor.

    Working height - Adjust the rotor in a horizontal or slightly oblique (forward) position by means of the height adjustment system of the front swivel wheels. If the required height cannot be obtained with the help of the spindle adjustment, try this by adjusting the wheels to any of the 6 possible positions.

    6 DISMOUNTING FROM THE TRACTOR The machine can be dismounted from the tractor both in the working and in the transport position. Always place the machine on hard, even ground. - Place the parking jacks in the bottom position. - Place the wedges against the transport wheels in order to prevent the machine from rolling away accidentally.

    7 MAINTENANCE • Correct machine servicing is necessary with a view to reliable and safe working. Maintenance after operations - Clean the machine thoroughly. - Check the tines and tine arms for tightness and damages, if any. - Grease the machine with a rust preventive. Pay special attention to the tines.
  • Page 18 - Apply grease to all nipples on the machine (fig. 17). 4x, L+R - Grease the cam track inside the rotor with a high grade grease (Molykote BR2Plus) every 1,000 hectares or once every year. The cam track can be easily accessed by disassembling one or more tine arm shafts from the rotor.

    Intermittent maintenance Intermittent maintenance has to be carried out: • at the start of the raking season; • before prolonged storage of the machine; • when the machine is used extensively during the season. - Grease all points of the machine listed in § 7.2 “Lubrication”. - Grease the spring-loaded locking pins of the yoke lock of the PTO shaft.

    Supplement A OPTIONAL EXTRAS Tine loss protection device The tine arms of the HIBISCUS rake can be simply fitted with tine loss protection devices. This simple option prevents tines (after having hit an obstacle) from getting away from their tine arms due to a broken coil.

    Supplement B LAYING DOWN 1 OR 2 SWATHS The HIBISCUS 1525 rake offers the option to lay down one swath at a large raking width, or 2 swaths at a reduced raking width. To facilitate these options, an adjustment ram was built into the machine's steering system so that the overlap between the rotors can be adjusted.
