innovators in agriculture PREFACE This Operator’s Manual is meant for personnel who operate the machine and are responsible for its daily maintenance. Kindly read this entire manual prior to starting work. Instructions relating to your safety and/or that of others are marked in the margin by a warning triangle containing an exclamation mark.

innovators in agriculture EXPLANATION OF SAFETY DECALS ON THE MACHINE - Read the operator’s manual carefully before operating the machine. Observe instructions and safety rules during operation. - Danger! Moving parts. Stay clear of rotating machine parts. - Danger: folding parts. Keep away from the folding areas of parts.

1 INTRODUCTION The LELY HIBISCUS 1015 CD Profi (fig.1) is a pull-type, twin-rotor cam rake for central delivery. The machine has 2 rotors with 15 tine arms, each equipped with 5 double tines. The tines give a clean sweep and move the grass to the centre in an airy windrow.

innovators in agriculture 2 LINKAGE TO THE TRACTOR Link the machine to the tractor as follows: - Adjust the tractor’s three-point-hitch arms at an equal height. - Fit the lower arms to the linkage pins (cat. II / III) of the headstock (fig.
  • Page 12: Transport

innovators in agriculture 3 TRANSPORT The HIBISCUS rake can be transported by the tractor after it has been adjusted to the transport position. The transport width is 3.0 m. Adjust the machine to the transport position as follows: - To reduce the transport height of the HIBISCUS rake to 3.90 m, the 4 outer tine arms of each rotor can be demounted and stored in the holder fitted on top of the rotor (fig.

innovators in agriculture 4 MACHINE ADJUSTMENTS Ensure that no-one is near the machine when it is switched from the transport position to the working position. Put the machine into the working position as follows: - Pull the control cord of the hydraulic system or press the button on the control box and operate the tractor's double-acting valve.
  • Page 14: Working Height

innovators in agriculture Working height - Adjust the rotor in a horizontal or slightly oblique (forward) position by means of the height adjustment system of the front swivel wheels. If the required height cannot be obtained with the help of the wind handle or hydraulic adjustment, try this by adjusting the wheels to any of the 6 possible positions.

  • Page 16: Forward Speed And Pto Speed

innovators in agriculture Forward speed and PTO speed Select a forward speed and PTO output (450-500 r.p.m., max. 540 r.p.m.), which will ensure a good, clean windrow. If the rotor speed is too high, the tines may release the crop too late. As a result, lumps of material will be scattered behind the machine.
  • Page 17: Maintenance

innovators in agriculture 7 MAINTENANCE • Correct machine servicing is vital for ensuring reliable and safe operation. Maintenance after operation - Clean the machine thoroughly. - Grease the machine with an anti-corrosion agent. Pay special attention to the tines. Smooth tines without any rust stimulate an unhampered crop flow.

However, it may be necessary to re-adjust this standard pressure if the wheels underneath the rotors show too much compaction on grounds with insufficient bearing power, or if the rotors do not follow the ground contours properly.

Supplement C innovators in agriculture OPTIONAL EXTRAS Stabilisation chain The correct height of the hydraulic linkage is essential for the machine’s freedom of movement. It should therefore be maintained after initial adjustment. For tractors that do not have a consistent linkage height, a stabilisation chain can be supplied to steady the lower linkage position.
