12 During Operation

12.1 Using the KombiTool

WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries to the operator
or bystanders, keep hands, feet and other parts of the body
away from the blades, @ 6.5.2. Do not touch the blades
while the KombiEngine is running or the KombiMotor is
connected to a battery. Never touch the moving blades with
your hand or any part of your body, @ 6.5.4.
WARNING
Always wear proper clothing and protective apparel,
including proper eye protection, when operating your power
tool, @ 6.3. Keep bystanders at least 17 ft. (5 m) away from
the work area, @ 6.5.4. Work carefully and maintain proper
control of the power tool, @ 6.5.2.
The power tool is designed for two-handed operation.
During operation, the operator's right hand must grip the
rear handle and the operator's left hand must hold the front
handle. This applies to all operators, even those who are
left-handed.
► Keep the unit parallel to the ground and push the cutting
blades forward carefully in a controlled manner, as
depicted in the illustration, above.

► Move forward slowly, keeping two hands on the unit at all
times.
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, standards and
ordinances.

13 After Finishing Work

13.1 Preparing for Transportation or Storage

WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation or unauthorized use, shut off the KombiEngine or
switch off the KombiMotor and remove the connecting cord
and ensure the KombiTool and its blades have stopped
before transporting the power tool or putting it down.
To prepare the KombiTool for transportation or storage:
► Shut off the KombiEngine or switch off the KombiMotor
and remove the connecting cord.
► Attach the transport guard to the blades.
► If the KombiTool became wet during operation, allow it to
dry completely before storing.

14 Transporting

14.1 Transporting the KombiTool

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control and contact
with the blades, never carry or transport your power tool with
the blades moving, @ 6.5.4. Ensure the blades have
stopped before setting the power tool down, @ 6.5.4.
WARNING
Attach the transport guard to help reduce the risk of cut
injuries from inadvertent contact. Remove the transport
guard before starting work.
