8-1. GENERAL.
This section covers load wheels, casters and floor lock
replacement.
8-2. LOAD WHEEL REPLACEMENT.
1.
Fully lower the carriage.

Chock both caster wheels and the load wheel that
is not being replaced. Engage the floor brake.
2.
Raise the front of the lift truck with a suitable jack.
Place strong supports under the straddle leg just
in back of the wheel housing so that the load
wheel being replaced is approximately one inch
above the floor.
3.
Remove screws that secures the load wheel
shaft.
4.
Remove washer, load wheel shaft and load
wheel.
5.
Remove bearings from load wheel.
6.
Install a new load wheel in the reverse order of
removal.
8-3. CASTER WHEEL REPLACEMENT.
1.
Fully lower the carriage.

Chock the load wheels.
3.
Raise the rear of the lift truck with a suitable jack
or another lift truck. Place strong supports approx-
imately six inches in front of the caster to be
replaced.
4.
Lower the lift truck so that the body of the truck is
resting on the supports. Remove the jack.
5.
Check that the caster wheel is not touching the
floor and is free to turn.
6.
Remove screws and thrust washers.
7.
Remove axle and caster wheel.
8.
Remove bearings from caster wheel.
9.
Install a new caster wheel in the reverse order of
removal.
8-4. FOOT ACTUATED FLOOR LOCK .
1.
Release the floor lock.
2.
Remove bolts, lock washers, flat washers and
nuts.
3.
Slide floor lock assembly out from under the truck
frame.
4.
Install the new brake in the reverse order of
removal.
