Code 7 – PIN Digit Length
This feature sets the number of digits required for PIN entries to generate a Wiegand
output. Select a length of 3, 4, or 5 digits. All PIN numbers must conform to the PIN digit
length selected.
default PIN digit length = 5
PIN digit length range: 3 to 5
Important
You must select 5 digits for the Keyscan proprietary Wiegand format when output to a
Keyscan access control unit if you are using a card plus PIN combination.
Steps to Set PIN Digit Length
The following example illustrates setting Code 7 to a PIN digit length of 4.
1.
Set the keypad for programming mode. See page 8.
2.
Press the * (star) key, then press the 7 key on the keypad.
3.
Then press the # key followed by the 4 key on the keypad.
4.
Then press the # key. Three beeps confirm the code has been programmed.
If three beeps are not heard, repeat the preceding steps.
5.
Exit programming mode by pressing and holding the # key until you hear the double
beep.
Codes 8 to 62 - Creating and Voiding User PINs
With this feature, you may program up to 28 user PIN entries for standalone operation. In
a standalone operation, the user PIN number will trigger a digital output.
PIN Range (5 digits) – 00001 to 65535
Steps to Create a PIN
The following illustrates an example of creating a PIN code 12345 for User 20 (Code # 46)
1.
Set the keypad for programming mode. See page 8.
2.
Press the * (star) key followed by the 4 key and the 6 key on the keypad.
3.
Press the # key.
4.
Press the following keys: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to enter the PIN.
5.
Then press the # key. Three beeps confirm the code has been programmed.
If three beeps are not heard, repeat the preceding steps.
6.
Exit programming mode by pressing and holding the # key until you hear the double
beep.
Steps to Void a PIN
The following illustrates an example of voiding User 1 (Code # 8).
1.
Set the keypad for programming mode. See page 8.
2.
Press the * key followed by the 8 key on your keypad.
3.
Then press the # key followed by the 0 (zero) key.
4.
Then press the # key. Three beeps confirm the code has been programmed.
If three beeps are not heard, repeat the preceding steps.
