    1. Web browser. 2. Latest CPT Tool 3. The EasyIO FW Series Sedona Controller running latest firmware. 4. Wi-Fi signal site survey using a Wi-Fi scanner. Refer to below note. 5. Always upgrade the firmware of a brand new purchase controller for optimum performance.

    EasyIO FW Series – Network Connectivity v2.0 Network and Wireless EasyIO FW series has an onboard wireless module and 2 ethernet ports. Wireless Network (Wi-Fi) The wireless module comply to IEEE 802.11 standards. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standard. Each unit is supplied with two (2) 2dBi RP-SMA female jack antenna.

  • Page 9 SSID 2 : Conf-xxxx , where xxx is the last 4 digit of the MAC address 01. Mac Address label located at the bottom casing top right hand corner of each FW series controller. The MAC address label is available on the circuit board as well , above the ethernet ports.

    The network switch supports 10/100 Mbps Half Duplex and Full Duplex. Each network port support Auto-MDI/MDIX (Auto crossover). This feature eliminates the need for a cross over cable if two EasyIO FWs are connected to each other without a hub or switch.

    The FW series also supports static IP addressing (manual assign IP address) as well. FW Series DHCP Server FW Series DHCP server work if for both main and secondary SSID Wi-Fi and on board ethernet as well. By default DHCP server for main SSID is disable.

    Static IP FW Series do support static IP. It supports all IP class , Class A, Class B and Class C as well. Static IP address is recommended if the FW series will be connected to a BACnet network as it will be much easier to manage.

    It has DHCP server enable. You can either run auto IP address or manual static IP address. Manual Static IP Make sure the computer used to connect to the FW Series has a static IP address that matches the FW series controller subnet. By default the FW factory IP address is 192.168.10.30.

    You can utilize the FW series controller build in DHCP server. The FW series will assign an IP address to any device connected to it. Below is an example of assigning an automatic IP address for you windows OS machine.

    EasyIO FW Series – Network Connectivity v2.0 Wi-Fi If Wi-Fi is used to establish a connection to a FW series controller you can choose either one of the below. Main Wi-Fi SSID A brand new FW controller is Wi-Fi Access Point mode by default (firmware V1.0b1k and above).

Step 5 Once the details are completed, proceed next and the connection is successfully created in your Microsoft Windows environment. A simple diagram below shows an example of IP address configure in the laptop computer.

    EasyIO FW Series – Network Connectivity v2.0 Connecting to FW Series (CPT Tool) In this chapter we will guide you to connect to a EasyIO FW Series controller with CPT tools for programming. Make sure you have all the prerequisite before we start.

    Each FW Series controller has a web server that serve web pages. It serve dashboards as graphical user interface and also network configurations. Modifying or changing the FW series IP address as well as configuring its Wi-Fi network configurations are done through the web page.

    To view the network connection configuration page please follow below instructions. Step 1 In the web browser address bar type in the FW series controller IP address (default is 192.168.10.30). The IP address of the FW controller solely depend to your connection type.

Network Interface ** Remember to Save any changes and perform a Reboot for the new configurations to take effect** Wi-Fi Operation Mode EasyIO FW has 3 Wi-Fi operation Mode.
  • Page 25 If user tries to disable both network interface, it will automatically enable first selection. Repeater/Client Network This option is used when FW Series controller is Repeater Mode. This option allow the FW series controller to connect to an available Wi-Fi. If FW Series controller is AP mode, this menu is disable.
  • Page 26 Password is case sensitive. To verify the input password is correct, toggle the hidden icon. Password FW series controller only support WPA2 Personal with AES authentication at the time of document. FW Series supports any combination of password up to 32 characters.

    EasyIO FW Series – Network Connectivity v2.0 Repeater mode Second mode that FW supports is repeater mode. FW can be an repeater to a 3 party Wi-Fi access point. The below Diagram 04 shows that FW-01 is an Wi-Fi client to a wireless router.

    EasyIO FW Series – Network Connectivity v2.0 Network Connection Recommendation Base on our connection mode discussed in previous chapter we would like to explain the FW series connection limitation for best performance. A SITE SURVEY IS MANDATORY FOR ANY FW INSTALLATION. An undocumented site survey will void any return or warranty of FW products.
