4.3.2 Data Monitor

The Data Monitor function can be used to check whether the RS-485 communication states of the video
optical transmitter is normal. Engineers can then analyze the protocol and check the data through the
code displayed on the screen.
1. Use the supplied RS-485 cable to onnect a DVR or a Control Keyboard to the RS-485 port on the tester.
2. Tap the Data Monitor icon
3. Tap the Setting button to bring up the setup page. Tap OK after configuring the parameters.
a. Tap Data to select between RS-485 or RS-232.
b. Tap Baud to select a baud rate. Please note that the RS-485/RS-232 communication baud rate set
up on the tester must be the same with the DVR or the Control Keyboard
c. Tap Advanced to enable the Parity bit, Data bits and Stop bit.
4. Tap the Send button, the DVR or Control Keyboard will send the PTZ control code to the tester, if the
code is readable, the protocol will be shown on the upper-right corner of the screen, such as Pelco D; if
the code is unreadable, the protocol will be shown as P:---.
5. To clear the received code, tap the Return key on the tester.
