TROUBLESHOOTING

Problems
The machine does not turn on.
The coff ee is not hot enough.
Hot water or steam is not dispensed.
The coff ee is not creamy enough.

The machine takes a long time to warm up or
the amount of water dispensed from the wand
is too little.
The brew group cannot be removed.
The machine grinds the coff ee beans but no cof-
fee comes out.

Coff ee is brewed slowly.

Note: These problems can be considered normal if the coff ee blend has been changed or if the machine has just been installed. In this case
wait until the machine performs a self-adjusting operation as described in section "Saeco Adapting System".

Causes
The machine is not connected to the power source.
The cups are cold.
The hole of the hot water / steam wand is clogged.
Pannarello is dirty (if supplied).
The coff ee blend is unsuitable, the coff ee is not freshly
roasted or the grind is too coarse.
The machine's water circuit is obstructed by limescale
build-up
The brew group is out of place.
The dregdrawer is inserted.
The brew group is dirty.
The circuit is not primed.
Rare event that occurs when the machine is automati-
cally adjusting the dose.
The dispensing spout is dirty.
Rare event that occurs when the machine is automati-
cally adjusting the dose.
The coff ee grind is too fi ne.
The water circuit is not primed.
The brew group is dirty.
Solutions
Connect the machine to the power source.
Preheat the cups with hot water.
Clean the hole of the hot water / steam wand using a pin.
Make sure that the machine is turned off and has cooled
before performing this operation.
Clean the Pannarello.
Change coff ee blend or adjust the grinder as explained in section
"Coff ee Grinder Adjustment".
Descale the machine.
Turn the machine on. Close the service door. The brew group au-
tomatically returns to the correct position.
Remove the dregdrawer fi rst, then the brew group.
Clean the brew group (section "Brew Group").
Prime the circuit (section "Using the Machine for the First Time").
Brew a few coff ees as described in section "Saeco Adapting Sys-
tem".
Clean the dispensing spout.
Brew a few coff ees as described in section "Saeco Adapting Sys-
tem".
Change coff ee blend or adjust the grind as explained in section
"Coff ee Grinder Adjustment".
Prime the circuit (section "Using the Machine for the First Time").
Clean the brew group (section "Brew Group").
