TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
The machine does not
have power.
The pump is too noisy.
The espresso is too cold.
The milk does not froth.
Espresso flows too
quickly and there is little
crema.
Espresso does not flow
or slowly drips from filter
holder.
Espresso leaks from
around filter holder
Possible causes
The machine is not plugged in
properly.
No power to circuit.
Water tank is empty.
Not ready indicator was on when
brewing began.
Filter holder and cup(s) were not pre-
heated.
Fat content of milk may be too high.
Grind may be too coarse.
Not enough ground coffee used.
Water tank is empty.
Grind may be too fine.
Filter basket or brew head filter screen
is clogged.
Too much ground coffee used.
Hot water / steam knob open.
Machine needs to be descaled.
Filter holder is not securely in place.
Excess grounds on rim of filter.
Brew head gasket is dirty or worn.
Too much ground coffee used.

Solutions
Check connection to power outlet.
Check circuit breaker.
Fill the tank and prime the
machine.
Wait until the not ready indicator
goes off before brewing espresso.
Pre-heat filter holder and cup(s).
Use only skim or low fat milk when
frothing.
Switch to a finer grind.
Use 1 level measure for 1 serving;
use 2 level measures for 2 servings.
Fill the tank and prime the
machine.
Switch to a coarser grind.
Follow cleaning guidelines.
Use 1 level measure for 1 serving;
use 2 level measures for 2 servings.
Close the knob completely.
Follow descaling procedure.
Make sure handle is turned all the
way to the right and is securely in
place.
Wipe excess grounds off of rim.
Follow cleaning guidelines, if
gasket is worn then replace it.
Use 1 level measure for 1 serving;
use 2 level measures for 2 servings.
