Note: If motors are designed with closed condensed water drain holes, then these have to be opened from time to time
so that accummulated condensed water can drain. Condensed water drain holes are always to be arranged at the
deepest point of the motor!

Bearing

The bearing change period (h) is under normal operating conditions with horizontal motor installation, coolant
temperature or motor rotational speed of
FS 71...160:
...1800/min
...3600/min
NOTE: Since the SIEMOSYN-motors 1FU8 are operated via a large rotational speed range, no general statement can
be given regarding bearing lifetime and bearing design as well as service life of grease and type of grease. For the specific
operating conditions (rotational speed, cantilever force, coolant temperature,...) the relevant service lifes for bearing and
grease or the relubrication interval can be obtained on request.
- With special operating conditions, e.g. vertical motor installation, large oscillation- and impact loads, repeated
inversion operation,... the aforementioned operating hours reduce considerably.
- the rolling-contact bearing should be renewed every 3 years due to grease-ageing independent of the operating
hours.
- Motors with degree of protection IP55 (< 6000 rpm) have deep-groove ball bearing with cover washers (2ZC3-
execution). The material of the washers must be temperature-resistant from -30 to +150°C, e.g. polyacryl-
caoutchouc (ACM). With design with cylindrical-roller bearing the cover washer is located inside. Motors with
degree of protection IP54 (>6000rpm) are equipped with special ball bearings.
- Type of grease with standard motors (IP55): UNIREX N3 (Esso company); replacement greases must comply with
the DIN 51825-K3N. Special greases are indicated on the rating plate or by an additional sign. The mixing of type
of greases is to be avoided.
- Bearing exchange: disassemble motor in the necessary scope. Take off rolling-contact bearing with suitable tool
(s.fig.7). Clean the bearing point of contaminations! Heat up the rolling-contact bearing constantly to approx. 80-
100°C and fit on. Hard impacts (e.g. with the hammer) are to be avoided. Worn seal elements must be renewed,
if necessary. If shaft sealing rings are installed without spring (degree of protection IP55), then the spare part must
be also inserted without spring.
- With oil-tight motors (K17) which are equipped with radial shaft seal ring (RWD) ex factory the shaft is hardened
and spin-free polished.
- With motors with balancing disk for complete balance, renew balancing disk, if necessary (motor with renewed
complete balance!)
Regreasing device:
At motors with regreasing device the indications on the lubrication sign or rating plate are to be considered.
The regreasing should be made with running motor. Open bearings are inserted at motors with regreasing device.
