Procedure of upgrading / updating LP firmware

Flows of version upgrade and revision update by means of LP Maintenance Tool are shown
below, where solid boxes with green background indicate steps commonly applicable to
version upgrade and revision update while dotted boxes with blue background indicate
steps unique to version upgrade.
Flow of version upgrade
Obtain LP Version Upgrade
License Key*
Obtain LP firmware
Back up of the Configuration
Save the configuration
Shut down LPAR manager
Backup the configuration
Reboot and re-save the
Configuration
Perform firmware update *
Boot LPAR manager
Re-save the configuration
LPAR manager time settings
*1: It is unnecessary to input "version up key" when updating a revision.
*2: Version Upgrade License Key is not needed when using LP firmware
version 59-3x/79-3x or later.
