For proper cooling, the computer requires a minimum free air space of
7.6 cm. (3 in.) behind, 3.1 cm. (2 in.) above and below, and 2.5 cm. (1
in.) on the sides of the chassis. The computer is equipped with fans to
help ensure proper cooling.
Strong magnetic fields near the front of the computer outside the
enclosure could potentially distort the image over time.
Before unboxing the workstation, inspect the shipping carton for
damage. If damage is visible, immediately contact the shipper and
request assistance. Otherwise, proceed with unboxing.
After unpacking, retain the orginal box and packing material in case the
unit must be shipped to another site or returned to Rockwell Automation
for any reason.
The panel on which the Industrial Computer is to be mounted should be
at least 14 gauge steel to insure a NEMA 4 seal and proper support for
the unit. The mounting studs will accommodate this minimum thickness
panel and panels up to 6.35 mm (.25 in.) thick.
To install the Bulletin 6151 Industrial Computer:
1. Confirm that the shipping carton contains a package of 16 10-32 lock
nuts and 16 flat washers. You will need 14 nuts for installation of
Bulletin 6151.
2. Refer to the physical dimension drawing (See Physical Dimensions)
and confirm that there is adequate space behind the panel where the
unit is to be situated. Remember to allow extra space for air
circulation.
3. Refer to the panel cutout drawing for dimensions of the panel cutout
and location of mounting holes. Cut and drill the panel. (See Panel
Cutout)
Tip:
It will be easier to install the computer if you support it
with a shelf or other support adjusted to the appropriate
height.
4. Carefully remove the computer from its packaging. Avoid damaging
the panel gasket.
5. Insert the computer in the panel cutout from the front of the panel.
