1.1 Scope of Application
The Sync Transceiver is a device for the time synchronization of digital SIPROTEC protection devices in switch-
gears. Use in other applications has not been tested.
The Sync Transceiver distributes optical input signals, for example, telegrams or pulses from a DCF77 or GPS
receiver, to several SIPROTEC protection devices to synchronize them in terms of time. The Sync Transceiver
has 2 independent channels that can transmit up to 2 different time protocols simultaneously.
Appropriate optical and electrical inputs and outputs are available for connecting the time receivers and
protection devices.
