1.2 Overview

1.2.1 Using IP Proprietary Telephones on a Local Office LAN
Panasonic KX-NT series IP proprietary telephones (IP-PTs) allow voice communication over the data network
by converting the voice into data. The following diagram shows a simple Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
network using the IP-PTs at the local office.

The example illustrations in Sections 1 and 2 use the KX-TDA200 PBX and IP-EXT16 card.
