Ethernet Data and Power Cable (Early Version)
Current Ethernet Data and Power cables ship with an RJ45 connector. The RJ connector has the
appropriate number of wires to make a Data only cable or a data and power cable. These cables
follow the EIA/TIA 568B standard. However, early versions of the cable shipped with a blunt end,
requiring the user to add the RJ connector. In addition, the early version of the cable used a
different color code for the wires. The table below summarizes the differences.
Note:
Before crimping a new RJ connector on the cable, double check the part number in order to
verify the color codes of the wire used in the cable.
