Cisco 6130 NI-1 to NI-2 Conversion Procedures
Reboot the system by entering:

After you reboot the system, error checking begins. Any errors display on the screen as the system
detects them. If the NI-2 card does not have the correct node software, you must reboot with the correct
node software.
The NI-2 config file opens after you restart the system. The configuration data from your NI-1
configuration file (NSS) should be in the NI-2 card IOS configuration file.
Install the New Front Cover
The front cover on the existing Cisco 6130 with NI-1 chassis is not deep enough to accommodate the
NI-2 card. Consequently, the existing front cover must be replaced with the new, deeper front cover.
Complete the following steps to replace the existing front cover with a new front cover:
Lift out and up on the existing front cover to remove it from the chassis.

Hold the new front cover, front facing you, and attach the hooks to the bottom left and right corner of

Close the Rear Cover
Complete the following steps to close the optional rear cover:
Lift the two latches on the rear cover (as shown in Figure 26) as you close the rear cover. The rear cover

closes left to right (seen from the rear of the chassis).
