Threading the upper thread

CAUTION
• Turn off the power switch before
threading the thread. The machine may
operate if the treadle is depressed by
mistake, which could result in injury.

Turn the machine pulley to move the thread take-
up lever (1) to the needle up stop position.
(Needle up stop position)
This will make threading easier and it will prevent
the thread from coming out at the sewing start.

Thread the thread.
Thread the left-side thread first.

Pass the thread in between the tension discs (3).
Location A
1. Loosen the tension discs (3).
The thread will be easier to thread.
Models Push the tension release plate (2).

without or use the lifting lever or the knee
thread lifter to raise the presser foot.

2. Pass the thread securely in between the
tension discs (3).
3. Pass the thread on the inside (5) of the tab
(4).

Thread the thread through the thread take-up (1).
Location B
• For foundation specifications: T-8452D-405
Pass the thread through the thread amount
adjuster (6).
• For foundation specifications: Other than
T-8452D-405
Do not pass the thread through the thread
amount adjuster (6).
