ALWAYS PRACTICE SAFE MAINTENANCE
Always understand the procedures before doing any
work. Use the proper tools and equipment, refer to
the Owner's manual for additional information.
Always work in a clean dry area.
WARNING
TO PREVENT INJURIES:
Lower the attachment to the ground, put tractor in
park, turn off the engine and remove key before
doing any maintenance.
Let the accessory cool before doing any work on it.
Disconnect the battery ground cable (-) before
servicing or adjusting electrical systems or before
welding on the accessory.
Do not grease or oil the accessory while it is in
operation unless otherwise specified.
Inspect all parts. Make sure parts are in good
condition & properly installed.
Remove any build-up of grease, oil or debris.
Remove all tools and unused parts from accessory
before operating.
Proper servicing and adjustments are the key to long
life of any accessory. With careful inspection and
routine maintenance you can avoid costly repairs and
delays.
Check all the bolts after using the unit for a few hours
to be sure they are tight. Replace worn, damaged, or
illegible safety labels by obtaining new labels from
your dealer.
The parts on your Box Scraper have been specifically
designed and should only be replaced by genuine
manufacturer's parts.
Do not alter the scraper in any way that will affect its
performance.
SHANK TIPS
Shank tips are removable by heating them in the
dimpled area on both sides and knocking them off
with a blunt punch.
New shank tips need to be dimpled with a punch after
they have been installed.
MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
GRADER BLADES
The front and rear grader blades have two cutting
edges. Replace grader blades when both edges are
worn out.
Unbolt grader blade and turn it over when its bottom
cutting edge wears out.
Inspect the 5/8''-11 x 1 1/2'' bolts and hex. nuts for
wear. Replace as needed.
Reattach blade and nuts. Tighten according to torque
specification table.
STORAGE
Clean, inspect, service and make necessary repairs
to the Box Scraper when parking it for long periods
and when parking it at end of working season. This
will ensure that the scraper is ready for use next time
you need it.
Clean off any dirt that may have accumulated on the
scraper and cutting blade. Scrape off compacted dirt
and thoroughly rinse with a garden hose.
Check shank bars and bolts for wear and replace if
necessary. For more information, see Cutting blades
section on this page.
Inspect Box Scraper for loose, damaged, or worn
parts. Adjust and tighten loose parts. When needed
replace parts with genuine manufacturer's parts.
Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to
prevent rust.
Replace all damaged or missing decals.
Store Box Scraper on a level surface in a clean dry
place. Inside storage will reduce maintenance and
make for a longer life span.
