Fixed-Disk Drives
C
D
You can store and retrieve data using the fixed-disk drive with the AIX
Operating System. A fixed disk is sometimes called a hard file.
It
is called
fixed because the disk is internal to the system, rather than being inserted
into a drive.
The IBM 6150 can have one, two, or three fixed-disk drives. The IBM
6151 has one fixed-disk drive.
The 40MB Fixed-Disk Drive and 70MB Fixed-Disk Drive can be installed
on either the IBM 6150 or the IBM 6151.
Data can become unusable because of a fixed-disk drive failure. You are
responsible for the backup of the data stored on the fixed-disk. See Using
and Managing the A/X Operating System for information on using diskettes
or the IBM 6157 Streaming Tape Drive to back up files.
