Control (CtrI) Key
Alt Keys
Action Key
The Control (CtrI) key is always used with another key to perform a
command or function. Press and hold the Ctrl key, then press the selected
key. The operation performed for a given control combination is
determined by the application program being run.
There are two Alt keys on the keyboard. The
Alt
keys are used to perform
the function engraved on the front face of the keys. Press and hold one of
the
Alt
keys. Then press the selected key with the front face engraving. An
example of a key with a front face engraving is shown below. The
Alt
keys
are also used, like the Ctrl key, in multiple key sequences to perform control
functions.
The Action key is used to inform application programs that you are ready to
have data (on the screen) processed. The operation performed is
determined by the application program you are using.
