The main component of the RT PC system is the system unit. The system
unit contains hardware components such as memory or option cards and
fixed-disk and diskette drives. These hardware components support the
AIX Operating System. The AIX Operating System controls operations for
the system and processes programs. Various program packages are
available to help you meet a variety of application needs.
The AIX Operating System stores data on and retrieves data from the
fixed-disk or diskettes using the system unit hardware.
