Power On and Power Off
The power switch is used to turn the system on and off. After you turn the
power switch on, the system performs an internal Power On Self Test
(POST). The green power-on light is lit when the power is on.
Ensure that the power cord located at the back of the system unit is plugged
in the system unit and also into the electrical wall outlet.

procedure.
Warning: When using the AIX Operating System, enter the shutdown
command before you turn the power off. Failure to do so may result
in the loss of data. If you turn the power off before shutting down
the AIX Operating System or need information on the correct
shutdown procedure, see Using and Managing the A/X Operating
System.
