IMPORTANT:
If you do not agree, the setup will be terminated and
Windows Server 2003 will not be installed.
Windows Server 2003 and the specified applications will be
automatically installed. Log on to the system.
19. Insert Microsoft(R) Windows Server(TM) 2003 R2 32-bit
Enterprise Edition Disk2 into the CD-ROM drive after the
OS installation. Follow the instructions on the screen. When
the installation is completed, remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive and restart the system.
Now the setup using Express Setup is completed.

Step 5: Windows Setup Wizard

1.
After restarting, the [Welcome to the Windows Setup Wizard] screen will appear. Click [Next>] and follow the
instruction of the wizard. After completing operations in the wizard, the NovaScale/ft Server series will be
restarted automatically.
IMPORTANT:
The [Welcome to the Windows Setup Wizard] screen will only appear at the first system power on. When
re-installing skip to step 6.
2. After the machine is restarted, log on as a user with Administrator authority.

Step 6: Setting Dual LAN Configuration

The NovaScale/ft Server series builds a dual LAN configuration by using "Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Dual Port Network
Connection" and extended PCI slot "Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Server Adapter", "Intel(R) PRO/1000 MF Server Adapter"
mounted as standard on the CPU/IO module.

Overview

There are two kinds of Dual LAN configurations below.
Adapter Fault Tolerance (AFT)
Adapter Fault Tolerance is a feature to switch to the backup controller immediately and continue the operation if
the primary controller fails, by placing more than one LAN controllers on the same LAN (same segment).
Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB)
Adaptive Load Balancing (ARB) is a feature that connects more than one LAN controller to the same hub, and
enhances the throughput by operating packet transmission from the server.
Receive Load Balancing (RLB) is enabled by default. When RLB is enabled, the receive throughput is enhanced.
