A mouse is a hand-held device which f a c i l i t a t e s movement on
a screen d is p la y in response to movement o f the hand on a
l e v e l s u rfa c e such as a desk-top. The Mouse I n t e r f a c e fo r
your NCR DECISION MATE V p ro v id e s the means o f using the
follow in g "mice":

The Mouse I n t e r f a c e ,
i n s t a l l e d in your NCR DECISION MATE V, makes use o f an
IFSEL (InterFace SELect) number in order to communicate with
the computer. There is a to t a l o f 10 IFSELs available, each
governing 8 I/O ports.
the Mouse In terface uses the IFSEL 2A (ports 30H to 37H) as
a default settin g. This is the IFSEL number already set when
you receive the Mouse Interface.
The Mouse I n t e r f a c e i s f a c t o r y s e t to operate w ith the

I f you are using one o f these mice, and provided that you do
not wish to change the d e f a u lt IFSEL number (2A), th e re is
no need to open the Mouse I n t e r f a c e . In t h is case, you can
i n s e r t the adapter in to a vacant s l o t 2...6 at the r e a r o f
your NCR DECISION MATE V (see F igu re 1.1). Then r e f e r to
