i) Be particularly careful when you turn the equipment around or pull it toward yourself.
j) Stop the tools if the equipment has to be tipped to one side for transport purposes, stop the tools if
you cross any surfaces other than grass and whilst transporting the equipment from and to the area
you wish to use it on.
k) Never use the equipment with damaged or missing safety devices, e.g. without deflector plates
and/or the grass collecting device.
l) Do not change the engine governor settings or over‐ speed the engine.
m) Disengage all tine and drive clutches before starting the engine.
n) Start or press the starter switch with caution. Make sure that your feet are far enough away from
the tool(s).
o) Do not tilt the equipment when you start the engine unless the equipment must be raised off of the
ground a little in order to start it. In this case, tilt it as little as absolutely necessary and only raise the side
opposite to that of the user.
p) Do not start the motor if you are positioned in front of the chute.
q) Never move your hands or feet to ward or under any rotating parts. Keep clear of the chute
opening at all times.
r) Never lift or carry the equipment with the engine running.
s) Switch off the motor and disconnect the spark plug boot:
Before you release a jam or remove blockages in the ejector duct.
Before you check or clean the machine or carry out work on it.
If you have struck a foreign object.
Check the equipment for signs of damage and carry out the required repair work before you restart it
and use the machine.
If the equipment starts to vibrate unusually(check immediately).
t) Switch off the motor and disconnect the spark plug boot:
Whenever you leave the equipment unattended.
Before you refuel.
u) Close the engine's throttle valve and the engine has come to a standstill.

3.3 Maintenance and storage

a) Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tightened securely to ensure that the equipment
is in safe working condition.
b) Never store the equipment with petrol in the tank inside a building in which petrol fumes could come
into contact with open flames or sparks.
c) Allow the motor to cool before you put the equipment in the enclosed area.
d) In order to avoid fire hazard, keep the engine, exhaust, battery compartment and the area around the
fuel tank free from grass straw, moss, leaves and leaking grease.
e) Make regular checks on the grass collecting device for wear or damaged parts.
f) Check the equipment at regular intervals and replace worn or damaged parts for your own safety.
g) If the fuel tank needs to be emptied, ensure that it is done out in the open. The drained fuel should
be stored in a container specifically designed for fuel or be disposed of with special care.
