Connecting I/O Devices

The backplane of the motherboard has the following I/O ports:
PS2 Mouse
PS2 Keyboard
Parallel Port (LPT1) Use LPT1 to connect printers or other parallel communications
(optional)
Serial Port
(COM1)
VGA Port
LAN Port
(optional)
USB Ports
1394a Port
(optional)
Audio Ports
(optional)
This motherboard may adopt 8-channel audio ports that correspond to the
A,B, C, and E port respectively. In addition, all of the 3 ports, B, C, and E
provide users with both right & left channels individually. Users please refer
to the following note for specific port function definition.
This concludes Chapter 2. The next chapter covers the BIOS.
Use the upper PS/2 port to connect a PS/2 pointing device.
Use the lower PS/2 port to connect a PS/2 keyboard.

Use the COM port to connect serial devices such as mice or
fax/modems. COM1 is identified by the system as COM1/3.
Connect your monitor to the VGA port.
Connect an RJ-45 jack to the LAN port to connect your computer
to the Network.
Use the USB ports to connect USB devices.
Use the 1394a port to connect any 1394a device.
Use the three audio ports to connect audio devices. The first jack
is for stereo line-in signal. The second jack is for stereo line-out
signal. The third jack is for microphone.
A: Center & Woofer
B: Back Surround
C: Side Surround
The above port definition can be changed to audio input or
audio output by changing the driver utility setting.
