Install Pcle Add-In Cards - Synology RackStation RS820RP+ Hardware Installation Manual

To remove the RAM Module:
4 Follow step 1 and 2 of the Add a RAM Module on Synology NAS section to shut down your RS820+ /
RS820RP+, disconnect the cables, and then remove the top cover.
5 Disengage the memory retaining clips by pushing them outwards, and the module will pop out of the slot.
6 Follow step 4 of the Return the top cover into the RS820+ / RS820RP+ section to put back the top cover.

Install PCle Add-in Cards

RS820+ / RS820RP+ provides one PCIe slots for optional add-in card expansion, allowing network interface
cards or M.2 SSD adapter cards to be installed.
To install the network interface cards:
1 Shut down your RS820+ / RS820RP+. Disconnect all cables connected to your RS820+ / RS820RP+ to
prevent any possible damages.
2 Open the RS820+ / RS820RP+ by following step 2 of the To install the RAM module section.
3 Install the network interface card.
a Lift the black latch from the expansion slot cover. Remove the cover from the expansion slot.
b Align the gold connectors of the network interface card to the expansion slot, and insert the card firmly into
the slot.
c Put the black latch back to the expansion slot to fasten the network interface card.
Note: Make sure the connector is fully inserted. Otherwise, the network interface card might not be able to function
properly.
4 Put back the top cover by following step 4 of Add a RAM Module on Synology NAS.
