9. MAINTENANCE OF THE BIOMETRIC MODULE

9.1 Replacing the optical biometric sensor part

Undo the ribbon cable situated between the sensor and the electronic board [A], at the
electronic biometric board level.

Unscrew the retaining screw of the sensor [B]. The sensor is now disconnected from the
terminal.

Replace the new sensor, screw back the screw [B] and reconnect the ribbon cable [A].

9.2 Replacing the electronic biometric board part

Undo the ribbon cable situated between the sensor and the electronic board [A], (above a
copper coil).

Hold the board and undo its connectors [C] (there are no retaining screws here). The
electronic biometric board rests on a simple adaptor board (which also supports a badge
reader). This adaptor board can be connected to the CPU board of the terminal.

Replace the new board and put the ribbon cable back in place.
