Charging Batteries

1. Preparations
 If the battery is still mounted in the vehicle, disconnect the negative pole
(black clamp) first, and then the negative pole (red clamp). Batteries in
motor vehicles may only be charged when disconnected from the vehicle's
electric system. This avoids possible damage to the generator, the
regulator or electronic systems.
 Please ensure adequate ventilation during charging and use the charger
only indoors. If necessary remove the battery from the vehicle.
 Regularly check the fluid level in the individual cells of the battery (not
possible/necessary for every type of battery). After removing the caps of
the cells, top up with distilled water, but do not fill higher than just over the
electrodes.
2. Charging Process
 Do not yet connect the battery connection clamps to the battery to be
charged.
 Connect the power plug (2) of the charger to the power mains. The charger
performs a brief self-test. A signal sounds and all LEDs light up for a
second.
 Use the mode selection button (9) to select the desired charging mode. The
LED that corresponds to the selected mode lights up. The charger is
working on 12 V slow charging mode by default.
