Page 5: Adjustable Legs
Install ing t he A s hco tt W i de stove Adjustable legs The Ashco� Wide wood burning stove is fi�ed with adjustable legs allowing the stove to be installed on an uneven floor. To adjust the legs, prior to installa�on, wind down M8 bolts using a 13mm spanner so they protrude just below the the stove legs. - Page 6 . Mendip Stoves recommend the use of a solid fuel flue lining system for all installa�on into exis�ng chimneys. All chimney systems must be used in accordance with Building Regula�ons Approved Document If an exis�ng chimney is used the chimney must be clear of obstruc�on and be swept clean immediately...
- Page 7 Flue Outlet Posi�ons The flue outlet should be above the roof and in such a posi�on where the products of combus�on may be discharged freely what ever the wind direc�on. The discharged products of combus�on must not present a fire hazard. Great care should be taken where the weather surface may easily ignite. Page 11: Commissioning And Handover
COMMISSIONING AND HANDOVER Ensure all loose parts (bricks and grates) are fi�ed in accordance with the instruc�ons given in this instruc�on booklet. On comple�on of the installa�on allow a suitable period of �me for any fire cement/silicon and mortar to cure, a small fire may be lit to check that smoke and fumes are taken from the stove up the chimney and emi�ed safely into the atmosphere. -

ASHCOTT WIDE: AIR CONTROLS Lever in le� posi�on - secondary air fully open Lever in right posi�on - secondary air closed OPERATING YOU STOVES - TWO CONTROLS Air Control The air control for the Ashco� model is a single control lever. The Lever operates by moving from le� to right . - Page 13 Check load weights for your model on the table on page 8. Use the glove when opera�ng air controls and door. MENDIP STOVES RECOMMEND THE USE OF A FLUE THERMOSTAT TO CHECK YOUR STOVE IS NOT OVERHEATING. PLACE FLUE THERMOSTAT DIRECTLY ABOVE COLLAR OF STOVE AND REFER TO TEMPERATURE GAUGE ON PAGE 8.
- Page 14 RE-FUELLING WHEN BURNING WOOD To re-fuel your stove in the cleanest way only refuel your stove when flames have died down and you have glowing embers. Before refuelling, open the air control fully (slide to the le�). Unlatch the door to equalise pressure with the room.

Page 15: Fuel Overloading
The refuelling procedure : - Allow the newly charged fuel to burn with the secondary air control set at maximum for up 3 to 4 minutes. A�er this period, with flames from the logs fully established, close the secondary air supply to the low output se�ng. -
Page 16: Overnight Burning
Mendip Stoves are designed to burn wood. Wood burns more efficiently and cleanly when it is burnt ho�er, the typical burn cycle of a wood load is 1 hour. Mendip Stoves do not recommend that their stoves are burnt overnight for this reason. As a night �me regime we recommend that the fire is loaded when hot and burnt for five minutes with the secondary air control fully open un�l the new wood has taken and is... -

TROUBLE SHOOTING Fire Will Not Burn - check the air inlet is not obstructed in any way, that chimney and flue ways are clear and the catalyser is not clogged with ash, that a suitable fuel is being used, that there is an adequate air supply into the room, that an extractor fan is not fi�ed in the same room as the fire. -

MAINTENANCE Mendip Stoves recommends that your model needs to have the ash removed from the stove at regular intervals (weekly if used daily). Allowing the ash pan to over flow can impede the func�on of the stove and can cause possible damage to the stove bo�om bricks and ash pan. To remove ash pan use heat protec�ng glove provided. - Page 19 STOVE PARTS, COMBUSTION CHAMBER, ASSEMBLY PIÈCES DÉTACHÉES, VUE ÉCLATÉES This sec�on shows the parts contained in your stove, each stove has over 80 spare-parts and, each part is detailed. Re�rez les 2 boulons (M6) (Fig 4, #8) et abaissez le boî�er du catalyseur du toit du poêle.
