Engine
In addition, the DPF differential pressure sensor features a temperature correction
sensor, which is located on the bracket of the differential pressure sensor and detects
the temperature in the engine compartment. The sensor is a temperature-resistive
resistor with NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient), i.e. its resistance becomes smaller
when the temperature rises. The temperature correction sensor supplies the PCM with
an analogue voltage signal between 0...5 V.
The signal of the temperature correction sensor is used to compensate the thermal
characteristics of the DPF differential pressure sensor.
NOTE: Since the output characteristics of the DPF differential pressure sensor is adjusted
while it is installed to the bracket, always replace the sensor and the bracket as a
unit.
NOTE: After replacing the DPF differential pressure sensor, several steps must be
performed to ensure its proper function (refer to the section "Control System, Service
and Repair").
