Operating the brakes

WARNING:
The brakes are not used to slow down the chair during
movements – Use the brake only to prevent the chair from unintended
movements.

WARNING:
Good operation of the brakes is influenced by wear and
contamination of the tires (water, oil, mud, ...) – Check the condition of the tires
before each use.

The brakes are adjustable and can wear – Check the operation of the
brakes before each use.
1. Running wheels / parking brakes (ALTITUDE XXL)

To put the shell chair in a parking position, all four wheels must be locked in place.
2. Directional locking (ALTITUDE XXL)

Engaging the parking brakes
With your foot, press the gray brake plate downwards
till it locks in place. The wheels can now neither roll
nor turn.
Disengaging the parking brakes

With your foot, press the gray brake plate in the
direction of the frame. The wheels have now been
released and can both roll and swivel.
Engaging the directional lock

With your foot, press the red brake plate downwards
till it locks in place. The directional lock has now been
engaged and the wheels can run in a parallel
direction only. This keeps the shell chair from moving
sideways or swerving.
Disengaging the directional lock

With your foot, press the red brake plate in the
direction of the frame tube. Your directional lock will
now be disengaged. The shell chair can now be
moved sideways.
