6. Install the SIMM .in the socket at a 45-degree angle (see Figure 3-7). Be sure that the

notch is oriented as shown. Rock the SIMM gently until it is seated evenly in the
bottom of the socket. Tip the SIMM upright until both the retaining clips at the ends
of the socket engage. Repeat this process for all eight SIMMs.
7. Replace the memory tower, using the card guides to ensure proper alignment. Use
appropriate force to seat the tower properly.
8. Replace the retaining bracket and insert the retaining bracket mounting screw.

The lower memory tower retaining bracket has an integral shield and is secured
to the system unit enclosure with two screws, one at each end of the bracket.
