Before removing the heat sink assembly, follow these steps:

Prepare the computer for disassembly

To remove the heat sink assembly:
1.
If you have a model with discrete graphics:
a.
In the order indicated on the heat sink, remove the six Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (1) that secure the
heat sink to the system board.
b.
Remove the heat sink (2) from the system board.
2.
If you have a model with UMA graphics:
a.
In the order indicated on the heat sink, remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (1) that secure
the heat sink to the system board.
