A correct shut-off delay can be set only after one or more test
runs with the unit! The final run-time of the pump is revealed
only when the wastewater pressure line has been completely
filled up with wastewater.
Adjustment of the watchdog timing
For the maximum permissible run-time, please refer to the
operating instructions of your pump. The number of minutes
is specified in the Technical data. Use switches S1 - S3 on the
PCB to set a time which is smaller or equal to this value.

For duplex units: Operation with peak-load
function
Set the micro-switch on the PCB to position "Sp.Last = Ein"
(Peak load = On).
For duplex units: Operation without peak-
load function (no parallel pump operation)
Set micro-switch on the PCB to position "Sp.Last = AUS" (Peak
load = Off).
When pressure switch B2 is switched or a motor protec-
tion switch or temperature limiter is triggered, this causes a
change-over to the standby pump.
The motor contactors are not locked; for this reason a simul-
taneous run of the pumps is not completely ruled out. If this
could result in problems, a motor contactor lock must be fit-
ted.
For duplex units: Operation as a single pump
unit
The control unit can also operated with only one pump connec-
ted. For this purpose, use an insulated core to bridge terminals
30/32 for the pump that is not connected. Both motor protec-
tion switches must be switched on.
Set the selector switch of the unconnected pump to position
"0" and of the connected pump to position "Automatic".
Shutting down the internal alarm buzzer
Remove the sealed jumper "BRX" on the right next to the buzz-
er. To prevent the jumper from getting lost, plug it onto a pin of
the two-pole pin connector.
External alarm buzzer (accessory)
NOTICE! When an external buzzer is connected, the integrated
buzzer must be shut down.
A 12V buzzer with a max. current consumption of 30 mA can be
connected to terminals "S+" and "S-" with the correct polarity.
Remote failure indication system
Connect the remote system to terminals 40/41 on the PCB.
The potential-free NO contact of the centralised alarm can be
loaded with a maximum of 5 A / 250 VAC.

External 230 V flashlight or warning light
(accessory)
Connect a 230 VAC lamp (1 A max.) to terminals N and 43. Lay
an insulated wire bridge from terminal U~ to terminal 42. The
electric circuit is protected by F1.
Set micro-switch "Alarm signal" as follows:
Flashing alarm light: Position "Continuous" (= )
Warning light: Position "Flashing" (_Π_Π_ )
The light can be acknowledged by pressing the green reset
button.
Battery pack for mains-independent
operation of the alarm system (accessory)
8,9
Connect the battery pack to the connection clip, and use the
1
existing cable tie to attach to the intended position on the PCB.
1
An empty battery is ready for operation within approx. 24
hours. It is fully charged after about 100 hours.
1
NOTICE! Check the function of the battery pack at regular in-
tervals! The service life is about 5 to 10 years. Note the inser-
tion date on the battery pack and after five years the battery
pack should be replaced as a precautionary measure.
CAUTION!
Only use the 9V-NiMh battery supplied by the manufacturer! If
dry-cell batteries or Lithium batteries are used there is a dan-
ger of explosion!
Fitting the LCD time meter (accessory)
The positions on the printed circuit board for each pump are
marked "Time meter". Shorten the connecting wires of the
time meter to approx. 10 mm and insert them in the printed cir-
cuit board. The connecting wires and also the connectors on
the printed circuit board are marked "N-P-I-R".
After the mains voltage has been connected, the LCD should
be visible. If no display appears, switch the mains voltage off
again, disconnect the time meter and turn it through 180 de-
grees before reconnecting it.
External switch-on delay mechanism
(accessory)
When the ESV/1 module is used, the internal switch-on delay
must be deactivated, and the micro-switch on the printed AD-
circuit board set to "AUS" (off).
Retrofitting a dry running protection
(accessory)
All control units with the additional endorsement "TLS" are fit-
ted with a dry running protection as a standard feature.
In explosion-proof units, a dry running protection must be fit-
ted. This can be retrofitted with an accessory kit. A float switch
(KT-T) is connected to the control unit via the ±24V safety bar-
rier supplied.
The control unit is maintenance-free. Depending on the qual-
ity of the wastewater, the pressure sensors must be checked
at regular intervals, and any deposits must be removed! The
correct setting of the shut-off delay must then be checked by
