the pumps are switched on automatically and are switched off
again depending on level and time. The green indicator "Be-
trieb Pumpe" (Pump operation) is lit during pump operation.
Manual operation
In case of a malfunction in automatic operation, the collecting
chamber can be drained manually as well. For this action, set
the selector switch to the "Hand" (Manual) position. The pump
will now operate continuously and independently of the waste-
water level.
WARNING!
In accordance with the explosion protection laws and regula-
tions, explosion-protected JUNG-Ex-pumps should never be
allowed to run dry or to operate in "snore" mode. The pump
must switch off when the water level sinks to the upper edge of
the pump housing, at the very latest. Dry running for servicing
or inspection purposes may only take place outside the poten-
tially explosive area.
Shutting down the pump
Set the rocker switch to "0". The pump is shut down. In duplex
units the remaining pump continues to work in automatic op-
eration.
FAULTS
WARNING!
Before carrying out any work: Disconnect the pump and the
control unit from the mains and take action to ensure that no
one else can reconnect them to the power supply.
NOTICE! Repairs and maintenance work on the control unit or
the pump must be carried out by a qualified electrician only!
Pump does not work
Please check the pre-fuses in the distribution unit when the
pumps do not operate in automatic or manual operation and do
not indicate a failure. Replace defective fuses only with fuses
with the same nominal value! Notify our Customer Support
Service in the event of repeated triggering.
The acoustic alarm signal can be acknowledged with the
green "Reset" button on the housing.
Indicator "Drehfeld falsch" (Wrong rotating
field)
Not applicable for alternating current pumps. Mains phase se-
quence is wrong or phase is absent. This results in little or no
pump delivery.
Indicator "Laufzeit überschritten" (max.
permissible run-time exceeded)
The maximum permissible run-time of the pump has been ex-
ceeded in continuous operation (please refer to "Adjustment
of the shut-off delay"). Press the green "Reset" button on the
housing to switch the pump on again. If a high-water signal oc-
curs in the meantime, the pump is switched on again automati-
cally.
Indicator "Störung Pumpe" (pump fault)
Motor protection switch has been triggered:
• Failure of the electric motor - winding failure
• Phase error - two phases (pre-fuse defective?)
• Overload - tight or blocked impeller
• Fault triggered - wrongly set or defective motor protection
In order to switch on after a fault has been rectified, reset the
overcurrent relay, the motor protection switch or the ETA over-
current circuit breaker.
In duplex control units the system may also have been switched
off by the temperature limiter. Pump has overheated because
the pumped fluid is hotter than 35° Celsius or the pump has op-
erated after surfacing. After failure recovery, press the green
"Reset" button to switch the pump on again. In case of frequent
failures, it is imperative that our Customer Support Service is
called.
Indicator lamp for "Übertemperatur"
(overheating)
(Only AD ...). Pump has overheated because the pumped fluid
is hotter than 35° Celsius or the pump has operated after sur-
facing. After failure recovery, press the green "Reset" button
to switch the pump on again. In case of frequent failures, it is
imperative that our Customer Support Service is called.
Indicator "Wassermangel" (lack of water)
(Only with TLS dry running protection). Water level in the col-
lecting chamber is too low because shut-off delay setting is
wrong (too long), pump was operated in manual mode for too
long or chamber has dried up as inflow is absent, for example.
Indicator "Hochwasser" (high-water alarm)
Water level in the collecting chamber is too high due to insuf-
ficient pump delivery or excessive inflow.
NOTICE! If, after the unit has not been used for a long time
(several weeks), the pump does not then switch on automati-
cally, the collecting chamber must be drained once manually.
For this purpose, set the mode selector switch to the "Hand"
(Manual) position and return to the "Automatic" position again
before the pump draws in air.

INSTALLATION

When using the control, the respective national laws and
regulations as well as local regulations on protection against
explosion must be observed, such as European standards EN
60079-0, EN 60079-1 and EN 1127-1.
WARNING!
Before carrying out any work: Disconnect the pump and the
control unit from the mains and take action to ensure that no
one else can reconnect them to the power supply.
NOTICE! Repairs and maintenance work on the control unit or
the pump must be carried out by a qualified electrician only!
NOTICE! The control unit must not be installed in a hazardous
area or in the collecting chamber!
The control unit must only be installed in well ventilated rooms
above the backup level, where it can be easily inspected at any
time. Attach the housing upright using at least four screws.
NOTICE! If the control unit is installed in a column which is lo-
