INSTALLATION

Water Pressure
A minimum of 20 pounds (1.4 bar) of water pressure is required
for regeneration valve to operate effectively.
Electrical Warnings & Caution Statement
An uninterrupted alternating current (A/C) supply is required.
NOTE: Other voltages are available. Please make sure your
voltage supply is compatible with your unit
before installation.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction
or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock
by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This
appliance is equipped with a cord having an appliance-grounding
conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged
into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
Improper connection of the appliance-
grounding conductor can result in a risk
of electric shock. Check with a qualified
electrician or service representative if you
are in doubt whether the appliance is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with
the appliance; if it will not fit the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified technician.
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power before
servicing.
FOR DRY LOCATIONS USE ONLY.
The cover should only be removed during installation set-up and
maintenance by a qualified service person.
Existing Plumbing
Condition of existing plumbing
should be free from lime and
iron buildup. Piping that is built
up heavily with lime and/or iron
should be replaced. If piping is
clogged with iron, a separate
iron filter unit should be installed
ahead of the water softener.
Location of Softener and Drain
The softener should be located close to the drain to prevent air
breaks and back flow. You must have an air gap on the drain line
to prevent back flow of drain water into the system. The air gap
should be two (2) times the diameter of the drain line pipe but
must be at least 1-inch.
