Possible causes for high or low lead impedance or low output current at
follow-up visits for the model 1000 generator include the following:
• Lead discontinuity
• Lead disconnected from generator
• Fibrosis between nerve and electrode
• Electrode detachment from nerve
• Defective generator
• Short-circuit condition within the lead
